News and Announcements

NEW, NEW, NEW!
We are pleased to announce that our NEW web page is up and running! The redesigned web page features drop-down menus that allow for easier site navigation. Also, our recipe page is now organized into categories (breakfast, snacks, desserts, etc.).

We also have a NEW (modified) package design for our dry mixes. The most notable change is that we now display the gluten-free symbol in the upper-right corner of each package. These packages should be in stores near you soon. Pictures of the new packaging are displayed on the redesigned website.

We now have NEW cases to ship our product. For those of you who order online, you will soon see a different box when your orders arrive. These boxes are smaller than the old boxes and therefore use less material. We are also able to ship 33% more cases per pallet to our distributors saving freight and inventory space which is good for everyone. We're doing what we can to incorporate "green" manufacturing practices here at Chebe Bread Products.

And finally we have a NEW heat sealer for our No-Frills Bulk Mixes. This means that the seals are stronger than before and will better withstand any rough handling in the shipping process.

From all of us at Chebe Bread Products to all of you, have a happy and safe holiday season and thank you for making the first year of our Webletter a huge success!

This Month's Recipe

We received an email last month from a delighted customer, which led us to include the recipe for Brown Sugar Almond Sticky Buns in this month's webletter.

RE: CHEBE Cinnamon roll/bun mix

CHEBE was one of the first companies I ordered from almost immediately after being diagnosed with Celiac five years ago. Ever since that time, I've been 'addicted' to your products. I'm proud to say that I'm responsible for 3 stores in my area selling Chebe (I raved about you so much they had no choice but to order!)

The very latest delightful surprise is making cinnamon buns (sticky buns....whatever you want to call them) with your cinnamon mix. Chewy, fragrant (even while in the oven), temptingly delicious and comparable to ANY wheat-flour cinnamon bun sold in supermarkets or bakery, I just WISH everyone using CHEBE would try making them!!! In fact, they're superior to Pillsbury's cinnamon buns or bakery buns.

The only negative downside is that it's absolutely impossible to eat just one or two. Non-Celiacs in my family gobble them up as soon as they come out of the oven. I have requests now to bring them for Thanksgiving. Who needs or wants pumpkin pie now?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Gotta run as I'm going to bake a batch !

Gratefully - - - your long-time customer, Mrs. J. Mergel

Brown-Sugar Almond Sticky Buns

Ingredients
1 package of Chebe Cinnamon Roll-Up Mix
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Slivered Almonds
1/2 cup Brown Sugar

Directions
1. Grease a 9x9 square (or 9 inch round) baking pan using margarine or butter. Sprinkle 1/4 Cup brown sugar on the bottom of the pan (spread it out evenly as this is part of the topping). Sprinkle 1/4 Cup slivered almonds on the bottom of the pan.

2. Mix dough as directed. Roll out the dough into 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Spread with margarine (or butter).

3. Spread 1/4C to 1/3C brown sugar on the margarine. Spread 1/4C to 1/3C slivered almonds on top of the brown sugar. Roll the dough up and slice in 1/2 inch sections. Place them in the baking pan touching each other.

4. Bake at 400F for 15-18 minutes (note that the tops may not turn dark brown). Immediately after removing the rolls from the oven, turn the pan upside down onto a plate. This will give you the rolls with the topping side up. Enjoy!

Makes about 9 rolls (depending on thickness).
